How to Upgrade Your Bag in Romestead

At a glance

Craft a Firescale Satchel with a job-level-5 Leatherworker using 3 Firescale, 3 Ember Cloth and 1 Iron Thread, then use it from your bag. Each use adds one space, up to six upgrades.

Use Firescale Satchels to add bag space

Bag upgrades use a consumable Firescale Satchel. Craft the satchel, then use it from your inventory. The satchel tooltip adds 1 bag space, up to 6 upgrades. Six is the number of expansion uses, not the total size of the whole inventory.

Unlock and craft a satchel

Find the recipe in Diana’s Worship tier VI, where the unlock shows Cost 3. Check the cost icon in that interface before spending; do not treat the number as a gold price.

A Leatherworker at job level 5 crafts the satchel. Upgrading the Leatherworker building to Level 2 raises its profession cap to 7; building level and worker level are different.

Ingredient Per satchel Source or recipe
Firescale 3 Lava Snakes in the Volcano
Ember Cloth 3 2 Ember Orchid per cloth, Leatherworker job level 5; also listed as Magus Vulcan loot
Iron Thread 1 1 Ember Cloth + 1 Iron Bar makes 5, Blacksmith job level 5

Do not confuse Lava Snake drops with Salamander meat. The sources do not establish a guaranteed Firescale drop rate.

The Leatherworker Level 2 upgrade is tied to Hunting Armaments. Its listed building materials are 3 Lumber, 4 Stone, 2 Clay and 5 Brick. The task lists Sagittarii Bow, Bronze Arcuballista, 500 Flint Arrows and 200 Bronze Arrows as offerings.

Use one before crafting a full batch

Use the satchel with a right-click from your bag and check that the expansion counter increases, for example from 3/6 to 4/6. Follow the satchel’s Use prompt if your controls differ.

Craft one, use it and check the space counter before making more. Do not consume extras after 6/6 to test the cap. Six satchels would total 18 Firescale, 18 Ember Cloth and 6 Iron Thread at the listed recipe; the displayed maximum and your remaining upgrades should guide the actual batch size.
